8-week IST Bands and Gliders Program

IST stands for Inner Strength Training. Building the body from the inside out. Description of my IST exercise philosophy at the end of this article. 
IST Bands and Gliders is built with the IST method in mind. It's an energetic class that will build your body strong and rev your body's metabolism to burn more calories throughout your day. 
These classes incorporates standing Pilates moves and barre strengthening exercises with functional body weight training with cardio bursts making this a highly effective workout!
Band and glider exercises are amazingly functional and gentle on the joints. We will be alternating between lower body exercises, upper body exercises, core exercises, and low impact to high impact cardio options.
All moves are assessable for all bodies and levels, so all levels are welcome! Work at your own level to gradually and safely perform the movements. 
Only equipment needed:
  • 6' resistance band
  • 12" mini loop band
  • 2 gliders (tea towels on floors or plastic plates on carpet) 
  • mat

IST is about honouring where your body is at and giving it what it needs - a balanced health regime.  It’s about creating a strong and balanced body from the inside out. Working our supporting intrinsic muscles helps stabilize the body's foundation, so that our extrinsic muscles (the surface “power” muscles) can do their job properly and purposefully.  The IST method works both your intrinsic and extrinsic muscles for a whole body approach to strength and cardio training. While reaching your desired weight is important if that is your goal, IST is challenging, however, is it not about arduously struggling to obtain an impossibly perfect body shape, it’s about creating strong, supported, balanced bodies that can function and move with freedom and ease.

What is included:

  • 45-50min pre-recorded workouts lead by Amy that are released each week, totalling 8 workouts
  • helpful health and fitness lessons offered each week as "homework"
  • mobile app to access all your workouts to carry with you anywhere you go, on any device
  • access to Amy via email anytime with questions about the exercises in the videos and weekly written coaching sessions
